The Power of Self-Care for BIPOC Folx

This weekend there is an opportunity for Self-Care for BIPOC folx. I feel this falls into an intentional uptrend in the last year for us to have space curated for us and by us. As a Black woman my mind is constantly in different places for others, for processes, and rarely for myself. The Power of Self Care, presented by Different Women and led by Ariane Barnes is happening Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, 9am-1:30 pm/2-7 pm BST.

What I look forward to as a participant

As a participant, I am looking forward to taking time for myself. I welcome the deep dive over a two-day period that can afford me space to explore, heal, and gather in the community. I look forward to learning how to better cope with the many feelings and emotions that have constantly appear and often turn into stress. I am excited for a different way to engage myself through embodiment and how to shift from pain to joy.

What I will offer as a practitioner

During Day 2 I will offer a bonus webinar on identity and oppression. I will explain the 4 I’s of Oppression and focus on internalized oppression and how this impacts us, especially as BIPOC folx. Lastly, I’ll leave you with strategies to respond, interrupt and address our internalized oppression.
